Hi! I'm Andrea Mendez, and I'm a Unity Developer from Texas. My most notable projects include a VR Chemistry Lab, a simulation I developed as part of UTSA's SAVE Lab, and The UnBeelievable Bee VR Game made for UTSA's summer HONEY Pathway research program.
In this narrative adventure game, explore an island and meet lost souls. Collect their lost items through simple minigames and help them decide whether to live or to move on.
Developed through Indie Game Academy Level 3 in collaboration with 8 other game devs as the lead gameplay programmer. First game as the vision holder in a team, and first time using playtester feedback to improve game design. In this bullet hell/action game, you play as a Reaper, tasked with helping a soul accept their death and the outcomes of their life. Created in 12 days for the Perception Box jam, I collaborated with 4 other game devs as the sole programmer. This is the first game where I really thought about juice, which led to me implementing the glowing slash effects through a shader. Made with Unity.

This VR research simulation was developed to support scientific studies on water volume properties. It's a collaborative multiplayer environment where two researchers can simultaneously conduct virtual lab experiments. I built the complete system from the ground up, implementing networked interactions with Coherence SDK and designing intuitive VR interaction systems using Unity's XR Interaction Toolkit.
2D runner made with a team of 3 for Quantum Game Jam where we won first place! You play as a physics professor trying to make his way home. I implemented the interactable tools and obstacles, quantum events with the Quantum Forge SDK, and animation scripts. Made with Unity.Itch.io

A VR bee simulator game with action elements like bee combat against wasps and bears, developed in collaboration with Jermaine Morehead, a HONEY Pathway member. I implemented the gathering mechanics, enemy AI and animations, and engineered the physics-based interactions between enemies and the hive. I also implemented the headset-led flying mechanic for player movement. Made with Unity and third party assets.
